Paint Blog Banner Tutorial

August 11, 2011

Today, I’m going to give you that quick tutorial I promised
on how to create your own blog banner using a simple program like paint.

I recently made a new banner for my artfire shop, so I’m
using those photos as an example for you. Your blog will tell you what the size
of your banner should be for the template you’ve chosen. My banner in today’s
example is 200px x 1000px

So the first thing I do is open Paint and measure out my
dimension.

Secondly, I choose a photo from my personal collection of
digital photos saved on my computer. You can also find photos online, just make
sure you have permission to use them.

Next, you’ll want to click on “Image” and “Resize.” You’ll
have to play around with the dimensions a little. I usually start by making it
50% vertical.

Okay, now that I have my dimensions, it’s time to add text
to my banner

Click on the “A” in the tools on the left hand side. Then
draw your text box.

Now simply save your file.
I save mine as a jpg. Then upload to your blog.
